Audi to buy Ducati for $1.12 billion

React >>The Italian motorcycle company Ducati is up for sale and it is Audi who has offered to purchase the same for an amount of $1.12 billion. This amount will also include the amount of debt of €200 million that is riding on the pillion of the Italian two superbike manufacturer.

The deal is being tabled and will finally come up for approval tomorrow, final decisions which will be taken by end of this month. Initial interest was shown by Audi to purchase Ducati way back in April 2008 but the company was taken over by Italian private equity firm by the name of InvestIndustrial. But true to the saying that what 'Audi wants – Audi gets', the two wheeler company is finally going to be in Audi hands.

Earlier, Audi bought Lamborghini and now with Ducati under their control it will mean credibility and status to the auto manufacturer. This take over will mean the twelfth brand in the Volkswagen Group. As of now though, we will wait for the ink to dry before returning tomorrow with the official announcement.

Audi A6 Abt Sportsline revealed with 3L petrol and diesel engine (Photos)

React >>Upgraded package of Audi A6 Avant also called AS6 has been revealed and the sporty wagon is fitted with a new body kit besides a host of engine updates. Abt Sportsline has added a new aerodynamic package for €5,630 while the diesel upgrade is available for €3,990 fitted with new sports suspension and alloy wheels.

The upgraded Audi A6 Avant with a 3.0 liter TDI diesel engine offers 360 hp and 700 Nm torque as against the previous 313 hp and 650 Nm torque. For the petrol version Audi A6 Avant has a 3.0 liter TFSI engine offering 420 hp and 540 Nm torque. Besides power and performance, the braking system too has been enhanced while customers can opt for wheel choices between a 19 inch and 21 inch offering with high performance tyres.

The upgraded version also sees a new body kit that adds a new front façade, new side skirts and a roof spoiler. The wagon is also fitted with a new suspension, sports exhaust system and all these come together to make the new Audi A6 Avant a must have for those who believe in comfort and style.
